Different information sharing mechanisms and online platform information sharing to different charging models are compared and analyzed.

Abstract

Purpose

Different information sharing mechanisms and online platform information sharing to different charging models are compared and analyzed.

Design/methodology/approach

This paper uses the Stackelberg game model to study the demand information sharing and pricing decisions.

Findings

The results show that: (1) the retailer's pricing strategy is the highest when both of them obtain information, while the manufacturer's pricing strategy is affected by the related attributes of different products, such as the sensitivity of consumers to product prices; (2) in the online platform sales model, the demand information data sharing owned by the online platform can bring more expected profits to the whole supply chain and the members of the supply chain, and the higher the accuracy of the information, the higher the expected profit; (3) when the cost of obtaining demand information is zero, that is, the online platform shares the information data about market demand free of charge, the retailer and manufacturer tend to obtain information; (4) for the online platform, charging a certain fee can achieve higher expected profits than free sharing.

Originality/value

Based on the single platform online sales model, this paper uses the Stackelberg game model to study the demand information sharing and pricing decision of a manufacturer and a retailer selling products through the same online platform.

The purpose of this article is based on the unit patent license fee model in the closed-loop supply chain.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this article is based on the unit patent license fee model in the closed-loop supply chain.

Design/methodology/approach

This paper analyzes the impact of the bundling strategy of the retailer selling new products and remanufactured products on the closed-loop supply chain under the condition that the original manufacturer produces new products and the remanufacturer produces remanufacturing products.

Findings

The results show that alternative products can be bundled, and in many cases, the bundling of remanufactured products and new products is better than selling alone.

Originality/value

If the retailer chooses bundling, for the remanufacturer, when certain conditions are met, the benefits of bundling are greater than the separate sales at that time; for the original manufacturer, when the recycling price sensitivity coefficient is high, the bundling is better than separate sales.

Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to investigate the effect of alternating current (AC) on corrosion, it is not yet clear about the exact mechanism of the corrosion induced by AC. Previous reports indicated that AC corrosion was similar to the effect of continuous cathodic and anodic polarization on the corrosion process of the metals. Wan et al. studied the effect of negative half-wave AC on stress corrosion cracking behavior and mechanism of X80 pipeline steel in near-neutral solution.

Design/methodology/approach

This study attempted to understand the AC-induced corrosion by imposing the half-cycle AC on the X80 pipeline steel in an acid bicarbonate solution. The AC corrosion mechanism was determined by weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization curve measurements, as well as surface characterization.

Findings

The results show that the positive half-cycle AC accelerated the uniform corrosion in the NaHCO3 solution, the negative half-cycle AC would decrease the uniform corrosion and local corrosion was increased and some Ca and Mg deposited on the surface of X80 steel, so the corrosion rate decreased by negative half-cycle AC. The corrosion product was composed of α-FeOOH under the application of positive half-cycle AC. The oxygen reduction led to a local increase of pH near the electrode surface and led to the formation of α-FeOOH, which enhanced the protectability of corrosion products.

Originality/value

Researchers studied the effect of negative half-wave AC on stress corrosion cracking behavior and mechanism of X80 pipeline steel in near-neutral solution. However, the AC behavior and corrosion mechanism in acid solution are unknown. So to make clear about the corrosion behavior of metals in different polarization states and the mechanism involved, diode technology was used to research the AC corrosion, half-wave AC was applied on the metals after the full-wave rectified.

Abstract

Purpose

High-silicon cast iron has excellent corrosion resistance in some specific medium. But the effects of pH value, chloride concentration and soil moisture content on corrosion behavior are still unknown. This study aims to provide reference for the application of high-silicon cast iron in different environments.

Design/methodology/approach

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization curves were used to investigate the corrosion mechanism and rate. The morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The chemical compositions of the corrosion products were detected by energy-dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.

Findings

When the solution is acidic, the corrosion of high-silicon cast iron is more serious. When the chloride concentration is 0.1 per cent, the corrosion rate of high-silicon cast iron is the largest. A passive film is formed on the surface to prevent the corrosion reaction with the increasing of chloride concentration. The corrosion rate is the largest when water content is 15 per cent, and the corrosion is the lightest when water content is 30 per cent.

Originality/value

This study provides support for the selection of high-silicon cast iron as grounded material.

Abstract

Purpose

Developing general closed-form solutions for six-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) serial robots is a significant challenge. This paper thus aims to present a general solution for six-DOF robots based on the product of exponentials model, which adapts to a class of robots satisfying the Pieper criterion with two parallel or intersecting axes among its first three axes.

Design/methodology/approach

The proposed solution can be represented as uniform expressions by using geometrical properties and a modified Paden–Kahan sub-problem, which mainly adopts the screw theory.

Findings

A simulation and experiments validated the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method (general resolution for six-DOF robots based on the product of exponentials model).

Originality/value

The Rodrigues rotation formula is additionally used to turn the complex problem into a solvable trigonometric function and uniformly express six solutions using two formulas.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper was to study the relationship between safe storage life and storage mode of hot-rolled sheet (Q235, X70) in humid environment, and a prediction model of safe storage life under different storage modes was established.

Design/methodology/approach

The corrosion behavior of hot-rolled sheets under different storage conditions was studied with immersion experiment and morphology observation.

Findings

The results show that pitting occurs on the hot-rolled sheets in humid environment, and the corrosion behavior is strongly related with the storage mode. When they are stored separately, the number and depth of pits first increase and then decrease as the Cl concentration rises, while for the stack storage, pit depth increases with increasing Cl concentration. The safe storage time of separate storage is longer than that of stack storage. Based on this, a model of chloride ion concentration and storage life was established.

Originality/value

A storage safe life model of hot-rolled sheet in humid environment is proposed.

Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to overcome the problem that the single structure of the driving term of the grey prediction model is not adapted to the complexity and diversity of the actual modeling objects, which leads to poor modeling results.

Design/methodology/approach

Firstly, the nonlinear law between the raw data and time point is fully mined by expanding the nonlinear term and the range of order. Secondly, through the synchronous optimization of model structure and parameter, the dynamic adjustment of the model with the change of the modeled object is realized. Finally, the objective optimization of nonlinear driving term and cumulative order of the model is realized by particle swarm optimization PSO algorithm.

Findings

The model can achieve strong compatibility with multiple existing models through parameter transformation. The synchronous optimization of model structure and parameter has a significant improvement over the single optimization method. The new model has a wide range of applications and strong modeling capabilities.

Originality/value

A novel grey prediction model with structure variability and optimizing parameter synchronization is proposed.

Highlights

The highlights of the paper are as follows:

  1. A new grey prediction model with a unified nonlinear structure is proposed.

  2. The new model can be fully compatible with multiple traditional grey models.

  3. The new model solves the defect of poor adaptability of the traditional grey models.

Abstract

Purpose

To study the corrosion behavior of pipeline steel in coastal areas, a tidal seawater macro-cell corrosion device was built using a cycle soaking tank and a macro-cell corrosion facility to simulate the corrosion behavior of pipeline steel in a simulated coastal environment (dry and wet alternations during seawater-soil corrosion macro-cell processes).

Design/methodology/approach

The corrosion behaviors were studied via the weight loss method, electrochemical methods and morphological observations on corrosion.

Findings

The results show that during the initial stage of tidal seawater/soil macro-cell corrosion process of the X65 steel, the working electrode on the seawater side is the anode of the macro-battery. As corrosion progresses, the anode and the cathode of the macro-battery become inverted. As the area ratio and the dry – wet ratio increase, the time of anode and cathode inversion shortens. Galvanic current density decreases as the dry – wet ratio increases and increases as the area ratio increases. The corrosion process of macro-cell is affected by the reversal of anode and cathode. After the reversal of anode and cathode, the corrosion rate is mainly controlled by dry – wet alternating corrosion.

Originality/value

The corrosion behavior of a pipeline steel in a coastal environment was studied using a tidal seawater macro-cell corrosion device. The synergism effect between the tidal seawater and seawater-soil macro-cell on corrosion behavior was clarified.

Abstract

Purpose

Pipelines are seriously corroded due to the close distance between pipelines and high voltage transmission lines. The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of alternating current (AC) on corrosion behavior of X80 pipeline steel in coastal soil solution.

Design/methodology/approach

The corrosion behavior of X80 steel under different AC densities in coastal soil solution was investigated by electrochemical measurements and image processing technology. Furthermore, a quantitative description model of AC corrosion through fractal dimension of corrosion image was established.

Findings

The results show that under low AC density the X80 steel is mainly uniform corrosion, and once AC density reaches 150 A/m2, the corrosion morphology gradually turns to pitting corrosion with irregular circle. For another aspect, the fractal dimension of corrosion images shows that the two/three-dimensional fractal dimension increase with the increase of AC density, presenting a linear and an exponential relationship respectively. In addition, the variation of the three-dimensional fractal dimension is the same as that of average corrosion rate. The threshold of the increasing trend of fractal dimension as well as corrosion type is 150 A/m2.

Originality/value

The investigation provides a quantitative method to describe AC corrosion morphology through fractal dimension. Furthermore, the method is of benefit to process corrosion images automatically.

Abstract

Purpose

An electrochemical method based on the open circuit potential (OCP) fluctuations was put forward. It can be used to optimize the alloy compositions for improving the corrosion resistance of rust layer.

Design/methodology/approach

The potential trends and potential fluctuations of carbon steels in seawater were separated by Hodrick–Prescott filter. The Spearman correlation coefficient and max information coefficient were used to explore the correlation of alloy compositions and potential fluctuations.

Findings

After long-term immersion, potential fluctuation resistance (PFR) can be used to characterize the corrosion resistance of metals and its rust layers. In the 1,500 to 2,500 h exposure period, Fe, C and S compositions have strong negative correlations, whereas PFR and P composition have weak negative correlations. Mn, Cu and Ti alloy compositions help the rust layer of carbon steels have higher PFRs. These elements that exhibit higher PFRs in this period have been confirmed to have the effect on improving the corrosion resistance of rust layer.

Originality/value

A new computing method for alloy composition optimization of carbon steels based on the OCP fluctuations was put forward. This method combines electrochemical monitoring with the long-term actual seawater environmental tests of various carbon steels.
