Abstract
Purpose
People with intellectual disabilities have lower levels of physical fitness compared with peers without intellectual disability, because of the high levels of sedentary behaviour in this population. This study aims to know the relationship between quality of life and physical fitness in adults with intellectual disability.
Design/methodology/approach
Ninety-six adults with intellectual disability were assessed with quality of life questionnaire and physical fitness tests, which involve balance, muscle strength, flexibility and aerobic condition.
Findings
Adults with higher self-reported levels of quality of life reported higher levels of physical fitness in balance, muscular strength and flexibility. In contrast, in aerobic condition were not found significant correlations with self-reported quality of life.
Originality/value
These findings support the hypothesis that people with intellectual disability with lower levels of physical fitness could influence in their levels of quality of life. This insight is useful for improving treatments to improve physical fitness in this population.

Abstract
Purpose
Halal tourism is a growing segment that represents a potentially attractive niche. However, although increasing, it is still a young and residual area of academic research. This paper aims to explore its concept, boundaries and various streams to offer a clarifying vision for researchers and tourism managers.
Design/methodology/approach
A systematization of the state of the art was carried out based on the papers contained in Web of Science and Scopus databases. Moreover, papers not indexed in these repositories (conference papers, book chapters, etc.) were searched through scientific social networks mainly.
Findings
In spite of recent efforts, halal tourism is a field of study still in a very early stage; however, on a practical level, the number of halal products and services is starting to increase worldwide. Nevertheless, there are challenges for the tourist industry in moving towards the authentication of the halal tourism offer, including among them the role of new technologies and the digital economy.
Originality/value
This paper offers a comprehensive analysis of halal tourism research. It highlights its main areas, gaps and questions for debate. In this line, a research agenda is proposed.

Abstract
Drawing on managerial innovation model proposed by Abrahamson (1991), this chapter tries to gain a better understanding of how the UN SDGs have impacted the practice of sustainability reporting of Spanish public universities. Data were collected from a variety of sources, such as: several email structured interviews with university managers, an examination of the Chancellor letters of sustainability reports of Spanish public universities, a detailed reading of some sustainability reports and a consultation of the website of each Spanish public university. The findings reveal that there has been an increasing number of Spanish public universities that have started to publish stand-alone sustainability reporting since the appearance of the UN SDGs. According to Abrahamson's framework, our findings reveal that governmental-policy forces have shaped the sustainability reporting landscape in the Spanish public university setting, and their behaviour is mostly explained by the forced-selection and fad/fashion perspectives.

Abstract
Purpose
The evaluation of novel materials such as the acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) for tribological and mechanical conditions can provide a structural protection against the environmental and wear effects that results in the long-term integrity of the 3 D printed parts. Results of the experimental stage are intended to identify the influence of the printing conditions on the functional characteristics of ASA parts that results in variations of the friction coefficient, wear rate and tensile response. In addition, this study aims to highlight the relevance of printing parameters to avoid the use of chemical post-processing stages, increasing the performance and sustainability of the process.
Design/methodology/approach
In this research, an evaluation of the influence of printing parameters of layer thickness and temperature on the mechanical and tribological response have been carried out for ASA specimens manufactured by fused filament fabrication technology. For this purpose, a range of three different values of thickness of fused layer and three different printing temperatures were combined in the manufacturing process of tests samples. Mechanical behavior of the printed parts was evaluated by standard tensile tests, and friction forces were measured by pin-on-disk tribological tests against steel spheres.
Findings
Higher layer thickness of the printed parts shows lower resistance to tribological wear effects; in terms of friction coefficient and wear rate, this type of parts also presents lower tensile strength. It has been detected that mechanical and tribological behavior is highly related to the micro-geometrical characteristics of the printed surfaces, which can be controlled by the manufacturing parameters. Under this consideration, a reduction in the coefficient of friction near to 65% in the average value was obtained through the variation of the layer thickness of printed surfaces.
Originality/value
This research aims to fill a gap in the scientific literature about the use of specific additive manufacturing materials under dynamic contact. This paper is mainly focused on the influence of the manufacturing parameters on the tribological and mechanical behavior of a weather resistant polymer (ASA).

Abstract
The adverse effect of plastic pollution on the tourism industry is one of the emerging research areas in the field of sustainable tourism over the past years. However, there is a lack of discussion on this issue in the academic platforms. Considering this, in this chapter, a scientometric analysis of 110 academic publications from the Web of Science (WoS) between 1999 and 2021 related to plastic pollution and tourism is presented. A bibliometric analysis using CiteSpace was utilised to analyse the data to present the keyword timezone, collaboration network and co-citation network. The analysis shows that the publications in this field have increased rapidly, and it has become an emerging and interdisciplinary research topic. Scholars from Australia, Spain, Brazil and China have published most on the topic. The Chinese Academy of Science with four articles is the largest contributor in this field among other institutions. Moreover, citizen science is found to be a new keyword coming up in recent years, and human health is one of the major concerns. The findings from this study provide valuable insights for the academicians and policy makers in understanding the issue.

Abstract
Purpose
The first problem when diving into this topic is the confusion caused by a number of terms intended to designate the same concept, in addition to the lack of a shared interpretation on what Islam requires from tourism services to secure their acceptability. This paper aims to contribute to the clarification of what halal tourism is, as it seems to be the most appropriate term to refer to practices allowed when travelling, in accordance with the Islamic law.
Design/methodology/approach
A synthesis of the current situation was carried out, based on the papers contained in Web of Science and Scopus databases. Moreover, a consultation of tourism experts was implemented to extract a number of practical implications for the promotion and development of this segment.
Findings
As the literature review suggested, halal tourism is a field of study that is still in a very early stage. In spite of this fact and the ambiguity found, halal tourism can be understood as the offer of tourist services designed to meet the needs of Muslim tourists in accordance with their religious obligations.
Practical implications
It is imperative to offer halal services (food, worship facilities, etc.) to attract this type of tourists. However, the diversity of interpretations has prevented the existence of one single certification. The lack of knowledge on this market is the main obstacle to overcome.
Originality/value
This paper contributes to clarifying the conceptualization of halal tourism. It takes a theoretical review and experts’ view as a preliminary step to study this topic in more depth.

Abstract
WENT TO Brittany in July for a week's holiday with my dear wife, and found it agreeaby empty of both tourists and the flood of crude oil which had enveloped the coast a few months ago when the tanker Amoco Cadiz broke up. Plenty of rain, though, so we spent the week perambulating between restaurants, and returned lighter of pocket and heavier of tum, to find a charming letter from a librarian in Hong Kong, who said he had met my sister there recently and she had expressed great admiration for me. I replied that in that case it couldn't have been my sister and would he please send a photo of the lady.

Abstract
Critical accounting research has viewed corporate annual reports as the signed public records of organisations' dominant managerial groups and/or as reflective and constitutive of a wider set of societal values. To date, however, there has been little research on the social context of these reports. This paper seeks to further explore and question the role of corporate annual reports in post‐modernity. Since the end of World War II, a post‐modern, media‐dominated culture has risen in Western countries like Australia. The question of this paper is whether corporate annual reports are instrumental in reflecting and reproducing this consumerist culture. A content analysis of Australian National Industries Limited's annual reports from 1962 – 1991 demonstrates that there is a link in the content and form of these reports and the rise of a consumerist culture in Australia. This paper shows that if everything can be made to sell, so aesthetics can be commodified and be made part of a product (corporate annual reports) whose primary objective is to convince dispersed stakeholder groups that the company and its management are worth investing in.
